Position Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Step Down Unit

Facility: Rochester General Hospital

Assignment Details:

  • Shift Type: 12-Hour Nights
  • Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week, expected to work every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: April 21, 2025
  • End Date: July 19, 2025
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Type: Travel Position

Requirements:

  • Certifications (via American Heart Association):
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale)
  • Licensure: Must meet facility/state requirements
  • Experience: Relevant Step Down/Pulmonary Unit experience preferred
  • Additional Notes: Local RN candidates within 75 miles are not eligible for this position.

Unit Information:

  • Specialty: Medical Step Down/Pulmonary Unit
  • Skills Required:
  • Invasive monitoring
  • New/rescue/continuous NIPPV (Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation)
  • New tracheostomies
  • Ventilator management with ETT (Endotracheal Tube)
  • Transvenous pacing
  • Floating: Expected to float to other units if needed.
