Compensation Rage:

  • Full-Time: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually
  • Part-Time: $38.00 - $41.00 per hour

Position Overview:

The RN Supervisor works under the supervision of, and consultation with, the Chief Compliance Officer. The RN Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient patient care within the medical department, Children’s Crisis Respite, and Casey’s Place.  The RN Supervisor provides guidance for the nurses in accordance with their level of training, and works in cooperation with medical providers, to guarantee the quality of patient care. The RN Supervisor would also be responsible for ensuring that all 29-I regulations and procedures are followed to ensure we maintain our license and receive expected reimbursement.  The RN Supervisor would maintain and be responsible for all technological systems (EHR, Connections, etc.).

 Responsibilities:

  • Maintain oversight and responsibility of all agency nurses at our Residential and Crisis Respite Facilities as well as our Casey’s Place facility.
  • Ensuring Personnel are competent in their job responsibility through appropriate licensure, orientation, annual competencies and the successful completion of an annual employee evaluation.
  • Tracks all med errors and creates corrective action plans in consultation with the Quality Assurance and Risk Management Department
  • Reviews and assists with editing annual and new policies and procedures involving the Medical Department at each Elmcrest facility.
  • Develops and posts work schedule within time frame
  • Provides On-Call assistance when needed.
  • Approves and edits Time cards, PTO, etc.
  • Provides direct patient care as needed
  • Anticipates physician and NP needs
  • Respond to Residential needs and issues involving medical department
  • Completes annual performance evaluations on staff
  • Ensures accurate and complete medical records, including any EHR, and Connections.
  • Provides patient/family education when needed
  • Assists with QA audits and works with the Operational Risk Manager in regards to the NYS Justice Center.
  • 29I liaison between necessary departments (Managed Care, Netsmart Administrator, Finance, MMCLs)
  • Ensures that all providers understand and bill their services correctly under 29I regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Competencies:
    • Demonstrates Competency and Professional Responsibility in the RN Supervisor Role
    • Be knowledgeable in the medical regulations for OCFS, OPWDD, and OMH
    • Communicates problems involving personnel, medical staff, patients, to the appropriate management personnel
  • Required Education and Experience:
    • Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing and licensed to practice as a nurse (RN) in the state of New York
    • Experience in acute care within the last two years
    • 3 years of Nurse Supervisor experience
    • Experience with EHRs and other database, ordering and tracking systems.
    • 2 years of experience providing health care for children
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
    • Experience with EHRs and other database, ordering and tracking systems.

 Essential Job Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift 25 + pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to sit, squat, crouch and stand for elongated periods of time
  • Ability to lift arms over head in upward reaching motion.
  • Ability to walk up and downstairs up to several times per day.
  • Varying levels of travel as determined by departmental needs may be required with this position.
