Nursing Department Chairperson New

Nazareth University is seeking an experienced and visionary Chairperson to lead and enhance its undergraduate and planned graduate nursing education programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. This leadership role offers the opportunity to drive the future of nursing education in one of eight departments of the College of Interprofessional Health & Human Services known for its experiential and interprofessional education initiatives and academic excellence. The Chairperson position is a 9-month fulltime tenure-track position with a stipend provided in the Summer. 

The Nursing Chairperson oversees all aspects of the program, including curriculum development, faculty leadership, accreditation compliance, and student success initiatives. The position requires a dedicated professional with strong organizational, communication, and mentorship skills, as well as a passion for advancing the nursing profession.

Required Education and Experience

• Current, unencumbered RN license with eligibility for New York State licensure.
• Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, or EdD) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in nursing education, preferably as a Program Director, Department Chair, or similar role.
• Expertise in accreditation processes, healthcare trends, and nursing education standards.
• Strong record of teaching, curriculum development, and academic assessment.
• Proven ability to lead curriculum design, faculty development, and student engagement.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with liberal arts education and mentoring in a student-centered academic environment.
• Proficiency with educational technologies and learning management systems.
