Last Congress we got so close to passing vitally needed Title VIII nursing education and workforce funding reauthorization. We're picking up that fight in this Congress – and we need your help!

A strong nursing workforce is critical to improving American healthcare, and Title VIII is the best way to reach that goal and invest in the next generation of nurses. But if we don't raise our voices now and help our lawmakers understand the need for full reauthorization, the program's future will be in jeopardy.

Will you send your letter now in support of Title VIII, and ask your representative to co-sponsor this vital legislation?

As you know, Title VIII funding has been critical to so many nurses' education as it's the only government program directly benefitting nurses - if you have a personal story to share about what this funding means to you, please include it when you send your letter.

Since 2006, more than 450,000 nurses and nursing students (plus countless patients and colleagues) have been helped by federal funding for nursing workforce development.

Reauthorizing Title VIII isn't just about helping individual nurses – its benefits extend to the entire nursing community. It directly impacts nurses like you by helping relieve staffing shortages and building a pipeline of nurses that are ready from their first day on the job.

At a time when there are so many public health challenges – from responding to the opioid crisis to providing care to a growing number of seniors – our nation needs more well-trained healthcare providers, not less.

Send your letter now: tell your representative to co-sponsor Title VIII reauthorization without delay.

Additional note from GVNA:  If your letter is going to Representative Morelle, please thank him for his continuing support of nursing.

Thanks in advance for helping to ensure that future nurses have the support they need to care for the patients who will count on them.

Sincerely,
