In her essay recently published in the D&C, Ann Harrington addresses the importance of safe staffing but identifies the problems with making it mandatory through the legislative process.

Thank you for sharing, Nancy. It's important for the public and our colleagues to know the core message here: we all support safe staffing. However, applying a one-size-fits-all approach to a very complex issue -- that differs considerably among facilities -- is not the correct approach and could have unintended effects.
